This morning we finally made it Washington D.C.!! There was much celebrating. We have a couple wonderful tour guides who are very intelligent and great with the kids. They taught us about all our stops today. We made it to the U.S. Capital, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court Building (there won't be many pictures of this because it's under construction and looks utterly ridiculous), the American History Museum, Holocaust Museum, Union Station, Lincoln Memorial, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials. Like I said, it was a very full day!!
Be sure to ask your students about the heat, the long walk that we took, and about the card they got at the Holocaust Museum. My lady survived, but some of your students didn't fare as well. Many of us also got to see a 200 year old flag at the American History Museum that has been restored and is the size of a house!! Even though it was busy, they had great attitudes, good behavior, and were excellent and respectful listeners. Tomorrow may be a little rough as everyone gets more tired, but we'll make it. We're expecting storms, which may make Arlington Cemetery interesting. Overall, we're doing great and having a blast!!
Thanks for sending your kids with us!!
